Lucy Porras Promoted to MEDA Director of Development & Communications
Taking the helm of fundraising for a scaling community-based organization

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 7, 2021The Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) has announced that Lucy Porras has been promoted to Director of Development & Communications for the 48-year-old organization. Prior to this position, Porras served as MEDA Philanthropic Engagement Manager and, later, Associate Director of the team. She will now lead a seven-person team.

In this role, Porras will spearhead strategies and grant writing oversight, with onus for a $16 million-plus budget. Additionally, she will partner on communications efforts to ensure funders see the impact of the nonprofit’s community development work.

“MEDA is excited to have Lucy Porras take on this role for our organization,” said Chief Executive Officer Luis Granados. “With MEDA scaling, Lucy exhibits the needed strategic planning and overall business acumen to be successful.”

Porras officially assumed this new role on July 1, 2021.
