Become a MEDA Tax Volunteer for the 2023 Season!
One of the best ways to help MEDA this coming year is by signing up for our Tax Volunteer program. Last year, we provided $7.9 million in tax refunds to our local community. That remarkable effort was only possible with the assistance of volunteers like you!
Sign up for one of MEDA’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Tax Preparer Training sessions.
During these sessions, you will receive training to provide free tax help for low- to moderate-income families who need assistance preparing their tax returns. As a volunteer, you will join the thousands of others who each year prepare millions of tax returns at thousands of tax sites nationwide. We have roles as Greeters (this is a vital role) and Basic/Advanced Volunteer Tax Preparers. Successful completion of Basic Training Part I and II is required for those who would like to volunteer as a Basic Tax Preparer.
Each session will culminate with a test to become certified as a Tax Preparer. (Attendance is only required at one training or until you can become certified).
