Each month, the Mission Economic Development Agency honors one of its dedicated volunteers — the people who are an integral part of MEDA’s ability to provide free services to low- and moderate-income Bay Area residents. Thanks to all of the selfless MEDA volunteers who choose Plaza Adelante as their second home.
Name: Emerson Quiñonez
Program: Workforce Development (Mission Techies)
Why did you decide to volunteer with MEDA?
I believe we can change the world, but first this generation needs to inspire the next.
What projects have you worked on as a volunteer?
I’ve volunteered before at the SF-Marin Food Bank. Now I volunteer with MEDA’s Workforce Development team, specifically helping with the Mission Techies program.
What do you like best about volunteering at MEDA?
The experience and connections I am creating.
What have you learned from your volunteer experience?
This experience helps me to grow — there is always space to move.
Tell us something we may not know about you. Any interesting facts you’d like to share about your life?
The first thing I’d like to share with everybody is that I believe. The second thing is that you can do wherever you want. How is that possible? Search for the “Law of Attraction.”
