MEDA Congratulates Biden-Harris Ticket on their Victory, Anticipates Equitable Policies to Strengthen Immigrants and Communities of Color

MEDA congratulates the Biden-Harris ticket on their victory — a well-fought campaign for harmony, inclusion and equity for all residents of the United States. We especially want to celebrate the Bay Area’s own Vice President-elect Kamala Harris for being the first woman, the first African American and the first South Asian to ascend to this role. MEDA stands together with our longtime partners, funders and supporters in our hope for a change of tone from the top, with dignity restored to the office of the presidency and fair treatment of all of our neighbors. MEDA now also looks with hope toward a federal policy agenda that will combat the pandemic based on science, address the current COVID-19 emergency for people of color and, ultimately, combat the systemic inequities and white supremacy that has caused the disproportionate negative health and economic impacts on communities of color, both locally in San Francisco’s Mission District and nationwide.

In solidarity,
