El Mes de la Herencia Hispana es una oportunidad ideal para celebrar las manifestaciones artísticas de los latinos.
La celebración anual tiene una dimensión adicional en San Francisco este años por cuenta de la exhibición Diego Rivera’s America en el Museo de Arte Moderno de San Francisco. Es la primera muestra en profundidad del legendario pintor mexicano en casi dos décadas. Una de las secciones incluye el paso de Diego Rivera por San Francisco.
Recordamos que menores de 18 años tienen entrada gratis al Museo. Y los primeros jueves de cada mes son gratis para todos. La exhibición de Diego Rivera concluye el 2 de enero de 2023.
Eventos en la Biblioteca Pública y en la Mission
La comunidad también debe estar pendiente del calendario y recomendaciones de ¡VIVA!, el programa de la Biblioteca Pública de San Francisco creado para el Mes de la Herencia Hispana. La biblioteca tendrá talleres gratuitos culturalmente relevantes para nuestra comunidad, además de presentaciones musicales y de danza.
Y por supuesto no olvidamos a las entidades de la Mission como el Centro Cultural de la Mission y el Teatro Brava. Recomendamos seguir el calendario de Calle 24, que permanece actualizado con los eventos culturales que acontecen en nuestro vecindario.

San Francisco Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month by Showcasing Art by Diego Rivera and Other Latinos
Hispanic Heritage Month is here – the perfect opportunity to celebrate Latino arts in all of its beautiful expressions.
The annual celebration in San Francisco this year coincides with the “Diego Rivera’s America” exhibit at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The show is the first in-depth exhibition of the legendary Mexican painter and muralist in almost two decades. The showcase includes Rivera’s time spent in the City by the Bay in the first half of the 20th century.
Important reminder: Children under 18 years of age always receive free admission to the museum, plus the first Thursday of every month is free for everyone. The “Diego Rivera’s America” exhibition closes on Jan. 2.
Events at the Public Library and along the Calle 24 Cultural District
There will also be an inspiring calendar of events at ¡VIVA!, the San Francisco Public Library’s program planned for Hispanic Heritage Month. The library will be hosting culturally relevant workshops in addition to music and dance performances by Latino artists.
