Thank you for your interest in joining our team!

MEDA is hiring! Many positions open, including for the Mission Promise Neighborhood.

In December 2012, MEDA was awarded a 5-year implementation grant from the Department of Education to implement the Mission Promise Neighborhood (www.missionpromise.org), a neighborhood based effort to improve education and create family economic stability for Mission District families through a cradle- to college- to career continuum of services. This initiative involves 26 community based organization partners, as well as the San Francisco Office of Mayor Ed Lee, City of San Francisco government agencies, and the San Francisco Unified School District as close collaborators in the implementation effort. MEDA is the lead agency, fiscal agent and project manager for the Mission Promise Neighborhood.

This initiative seeks to improve academic achievement and family economic success in the lowest performing schools in the Mission district of San Francisco. The four schools targeted for first phase of the Mission Promise Neighborhood implementation include: César Chávez Elementary School, Bryant ElementarySchool, Everett Middle School, and John O’Connell High School.

MEDA is hiring a number of positions.   Some of these are specifically related to the Mission Promise Neighborhood, and others are associated with MEDA’s asset programs, fund development, policy, and administration and operations.   Each of these positions are listed below.

If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please contact Myrna or Luis if you would like to discuss this further.

Individuals Interested in MEDA Positions

We are now in the process  of accepting resumes, screening candidates, and conducting interviews.   Given the high number of positions, and the high level of care and attention that giving the hiring process, this is a very time-intensive undertaking.   For this reason, we are asking individuals interested in any of these positions to  apply directly of the position(s) that you are interested in using the email address stated in the job description.   This is the most effective manner in ensuring that your resume will be reviewed and consider for the position that you are interested in.   Please do not send your resume to someone on staff even if you know that individual.  Doing so may result in your resume not getting to the right person, at the right time, and may prevent you from being considered for the position that you are interested in.  Also, given the high demand of MEDA’s staff time in moving forward with the hiring process, we are not engaging in informational interviews.  While normally  we would have informal conversations with potential applicants, given the level of interest in these positions, we are not able to accommodate these informal conversations.
