In its provision of services, benefits, financial and other assistance, MEDA follows all applicable non–discrimination laws, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related statutes, and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, age, religion, religious creed, physical or mental disability, genetic information, medical condition, political affiliation, marital status, registered domestic partner status, citizenship status, military service and veteran status, gender, gender identity and gender expression, pregnancy, AIDS or AIDS-related condition, reproductive health decisions, or any other basis protected by law.
Any person who believes that they, individually or as a member of any specific class of persons, have been excluded from participation in, been denied the benefits of, or otherwise been subjected to discrimination under any program or activity for which MEDA provides assistance, and believes the discrimination is based on a status protected by law, has the right to file a formal complaint with MEDA and applicable government agencies that enforce civil rights laws. A complaint must be submitted within 180 days of the alleged discriminatory act.
