Where youth voice sparks change

From Learning to Leading

Youth Leadership & Career Pathways

Empowering the next generation in the Mission and beyond

MEDA’s youth programs support San Francisco students in building leadership, gaining real-world experience, and shaping the future of their communities. Grounded in social-emotional learning, advocacy, and career readiness, our programming connects youth with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive, from high school to adulthood.

Youth in Action – Jóvenes de la Misión en Acción

Mission Youth in Action- Jovenes de la Mision en Accion is MEDA’s 9th-month leadership development program that Inspire youth to become agents of change by fostering civic engagement and leadership development through a self discovery process where youth acknowledge their lived experiences to ignite their voice and reclaim their power.

Youth engage in writing, public speaking, and financial literacy workshops. By centering youth voice and leadership, the program builds a strong pipeline of changemakers in the Mission and beyond.

Raise your voice. Build your skills. Lead your community.

Jóvenes Adelante – Career Exploration & Work-Based Learning

In partnership with John O’Connell High School, MEDA connects students with work-based learning and paid internship opportunities that are integrated with school-day curriculum. These internships offer exposure to real-world careers while supporting students’ development of college and career readiness skills.

This program is especially focused on supporting students who are under-credited or at risk of not graduating on time—helping them build confidence, gain experience, and envision their future.

Would you like to offer an internship and support local youth in building their future?
