Jose attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he earned a B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business. Before joining MEDA, he served as a Consultant for Overland, Pacific, and Cutler LLC, where he partnered with MEDA on the rehabilitation of five former public housing developments under the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program—totaling 439 units for seniors and disabled San Franciscans.
Jose is driven by a deep and personal commitment to housing justice. As an immigrant from Guanajuato, Mexico, he knows firsthand the stability an affordable home provides. As Chief Real Estate Officer at MEDA, Jose leads the Preservation, Production, and Asset Management teams, advancing equitable development in San Francisco’s Mission District. With over a decade of service to the community, he works to ensure the Mission remains vibrant and that families can continue to call the neighborhood home for generations to come.
