Program Summary:
Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) is a community-based, local economic development organization which has engaged individuals and small businesses in community-building strategies for over 40 years. Our mission is to achieve economic justice for San Francisco’s low and moderate income Latino families through asset development.
Purpose:
The Finance Support volunteer provides administrative assistance to MEDA’s Finance staff. The Finance Support Volunteer may perform a variety of duties including, but not exclusively, reviewing MEDA’s financial statements, clerical support, record keeping assignments and other duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review the organization’s revenues and expenditures, balance sheet, investments and other matters related to its continued solvency.
- Provide support for the preparation of an annual audit, tax forms, and audited Financial Statements.
- Set up, catalog, maintain, and store physical and/or electronic records
- Retrieve, store, and purge information in a wide variety of filing systems
- Compile, check, and verify data and information for accuracy and completeness
- Operate office equipment including copiers , computer terminals, and printers;
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial information.
Qualifications:
- Ability to understand financial statements
- Experience with budgets
- Knowledge of financial policy and procedures for non-profits.
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced office environment

Time Commitment:
- Four hours per week during regular business hours (8:30 am-5:30 pm)
- We ask for a 3 month commitment
