Program Summary:
Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) is a community-based, local economic development organization which has engaged individuals and small businesses in community-building strategies for over 40 years. Our mission is to achieve economic justice for San Francisco’s low and moderate income Latino families through asset development. The Development Department at MEDA is critical to our fundraising. This department leads our efforts in writing grants, soliciting and thanking donors, and managing large events.
Purpose:
The Development Volunteer will work on special projects for the Department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with processing donations and preparing acknowledgement letters and other correspondence.
- Continually update and correct database records.
- Provide support for the production and mailing of annual appeal letters.
- Help maintain guest lists, gather and prepare registration materials and other duties as assigned for fund-raising events.
- Prepare media materials for distribution. (i.e. copying, filing, mailing, e-mailing)
- Help assemble media and donor kits for events and meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development.
Qualifications:
- Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Proficiency in SalesForce is very helpful.
- Strong writing ability.
- Must be extremely reliable and able to follow through on commitments.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with people from diverse cultures and life circumstances.
- Must be flexible and willing to work in a fast-paced office environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Time Commitment:
- Flexible, 4 hours or more per week minimum
- General hours of operation: Monday through Friday from 8:30-5:30pm
- We ask for a 6 month commitment
