About MEDA

The Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) is a community-based, local economic development organization, which, for over 48 years, has engaged individuals, families, and small businesses in community-building strategies. Rooted in the Mission and focused on San Francisco, MEDA’s mission is to strengthen low- and moderate-income Latino families by promoting economic equity and social justice through asset building and community development.

Additionally, the Senior Coach will connect clients to financial services and products to best support them in reaching their wealth-building goals. The Senior Coach is responsible for completing career and financial assessments, goal setting, and action plans with clients and providing at minimum quarterly follow-up. This position will work closely with the Workforce Development team, as well as with all other Asset Building Programs and staff.

Neighborhood Job Center

MEDA coordinates the delivery of neighborhood-based employment services in program models that already offer a variety of services that strengthen communities and support residents in achieving economic stability and general well-being.

Many low-income job seekers require more than workforce services to achieve economic stability. Workforce services are critical to economic stability, but individuals and families may need help from additional education and supportive services in order to succeed. We seek to provide a range of integrated services to low-income individuals and families to help them along the path to economic security.

In addition to existing program offerings, Neighborhood Job Center serves as a point of entry into the public workforce system and as a dedicated Employment and training liaison. MEDA’s Neighborhood Job Center will:

  • Provide wrap-around support and related services to assist job seekers to address and overcome significant barriers to employment.
  • Prepare and support low-income residents in building their foundation skills and proficiency in core workplace competencies, including work preparedness skills.
