Your Career Opportunity

As Development Coordinator, you will be part of a fast-paced, dynamic team helping to write compelling grants and funding requests to government, local and national foundations, corporations and individual donors. You will plan and coordinate MEDA’s Annual Gala, which hosts approximately 350 people annually and includes a call for individual giving. Finally, you will support the Communications and Marketing staff in preparing materials for funders and stakeholders.

This work is challenging and fun as you work with our talented staff to fund our diverse and successful programs. Our programs bring free services to low- and moderate-income families who live in the San Francisco Mission District as well as the broader Bay Area. Successful candidates will bring their superb writing skills and collaborative nature to the work along with their desire to make San Francisco a better place for families of all backgrounds.

Specifically, you will:

  • Research and identify corporations, foundations and government funding opportunities
  • Assist in the preparation of funding proposals for government, corporate and foundation grants, including coordinating proposal components with evaluation, programs and finance departments
  • Develop customized presentations and approaches, based on agreed areas of interest and in-line with MEDA’s programming priorities.
  • Plan & coordinate MEDA’s fundraisers, including small events and the annual gala, which hosts approximately 300 people annually
  • Assist with MEDA’s annual individual donor campaign

Your Keys to Success

To perform successfully in this role, you will need to leverage these key qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in related field
  • High degree of independence, initiative, responsibility, and capability in managing pjects.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with project teams and people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize while working to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, both written and oral.
