POSITION DESCRIPTION

Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) is looking for a ready candidate to be part of the Asset Management team. MEDA is a dynamic organization in the Mission District serving the needs of generations of Latino families, we expect the right candidate will be passionate about building community value through the development of residential and commercial buildings in the face of intense development pressures.

The Leasing Specialist will support MEDA’s affordable housing properties by: screening tenants, conducting annual income certifications and working with tenant’s as they move into their new homes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists the Property Management and Asset Management team with maintaining occupancy and delinquency rates.
• Showing available units to prospective tenants, answering questions in reference to the available unit, and securing the units after each showing.
• Communicate via phone, email and text with prospective tenants on an as needed basis.
• Follow up with prospective tenants before and after each tour.
• Work with prospective tenants to complete application materials and prepare the final leasing package for appropriate signatures.
• Maintain a schedule of annual income certifications.
• Complete annual income certifications for each tenant, maintaining all required records in an orderly and efficient way.
• Assists with rent collection.
• Serves appropriate notices regarding rent increases, delinquent rent and other lease infractions.
• Maintains and enforces guidelines under the Fair Housing Act.
• Other related duties as requested.
• This position may require working occasional evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bilingual Spanish/English required. Spanish fluency required (must be able to speak, read & write in Spanish).
• High School Diploma required
• Minimum 1-year experience in Leasing
• Affordable Housing experience, housing application lottery process, and tax credit income certifications (preferred)
• Knowledgeable of San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance
• Must be able to travel to community or resident locations to provide tours, etc. (50% of job requirement)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and Salesforce
• Commitment and passion for working with diverse populations including seniors and those with disabilities
• Assertive, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• High degree of independence, initiative, responsibility, and accountability as well as capability in a team environment.

Compensation
$55,000-70,000 annual salary, DOE
