Annual Report 2013

Luis Granados, MEDA Executive Director¡Saludos!

With 40 years of achievement under its belt, I am proud to announce that 2013 was MEDA’s most impactful year to date. We successfully launched the Mission Promise Neighborhood (MPN), established several new departments and programs, doubled the size of our organization and accelerated the development of our service integration model.

MEDA now empowers over 5,000 clients to achieve economic success, with 89% defined as low- to moderate-income. I am proud to say that while MEDA currently serves more than four times the number of clients than in 2008, your support has allowed us to continue offering all services at no cost to our families.

Our revamped motto is: “Every Family Succeeds, Every Student Achieves.” While this is admittedly a lofty target, MPN is working together with over 2,000 families in the Mission District to ultimately prepare their children for college and secure their long-term financial stability. This program’s success will transform our community and serve as a model for how to provide children and families with the best opportunity to succeed in life.

On behalf of our staff, Board of Directors, and 5,000 empowered families, let me personally thank you for making our vital work possible. As we continue to innovate, expand, and improve our programs, we hope to deepen our relationship with you and find new ways for us to partner together this year.

Sincerely,

LuisSignatureFinal
