You Can Make a Difference in the Lives of 6,000 Families
MEDA provides thousands of low-income families with the skills and services they need to achieve economic success, all at no cost to the family. However, 23,000 families in San Francisco earned less than $25,000 in 2012. To meet the growing need for our services, the number of clients at MEDA has more than quadrupled from 1,200 to over 5,000 since 2007.
As we celebrate our 40th Anniversary this year, we want to serve an additional 1,000 families, but we can only achieve this goal with your support. You can help a family save their home from foreclosure, find a job, receive job training, start a business, improve their credit, savings and debt, and much more!
On behalf of the 6,000 families that will receive our services in 2014, will you partner with us by making a donation?
How Valuable is Your Donation?
As 87% of MEDA’s clients are defined as low-income, we offer all of our services at no cost. Your donation not only helps provide thousands of low-income families with the education and training they need to achieve economic success, but also enables us to keep our programs free for our families. Below are examples of the estimated costs of our services and what your donation could help accomplish:
- $5,000 could help seven families save their homes from foreclosure.
- $2,500 could help five people obtain employment.
- $1,000 could help an entrepreneur start a business.
- $500 could help provide three financial education workshops, serving 30 families.
- $250 could help provide one family with a free computer for school and work.
- $100 could help provide an initial financial coaching session for one family to help them improve their credit, savings, and debt.
- $40 could help secure a tax refund for one family.
A monthly donation provides MEDA with a predictable source of income and allows you to maximize your donation. It’s the easiest way to give and ensure that the 5,000 families we currently serve receive your ongoing support. Donate Now >>
