Administrative Support Volunteer

Program Summary: 

Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) is a community-based, local economic development organization which has engaged individuals and small businesses in community-building strategies for over 40 years.  Our mission is to achieve economic justice for San Francisco’s low and moderate income Latino families through asset development.

Purpose:

The Administrative Support volunteer provides administrative assistance to MEDA’s program staff. The Administrative Support Volunteer may perform a variety of duties including, but not exclusively, clerical support, data entry, and other duties as assigned.  The Administrative Support volunteer may act as receptionist, file clerk, or keyboarder using computer application programs to perform a wide variety of typing/data entry and record keeping assignments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up, catalog, maintain, and store physical and/or electronic records
  • Retrieve, store, and purge information in a wide variety of filing systems
  • Compile, check, and verify data and information for accuracy and completeness
  • Update and maintain records
  • Operate office equipment including copiers, calculators, computer terminals, and printers;
  • Return phone calls and forward calls
  • Help set up trainings and workshops
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client information. 

Qualifications:

  • Friendly, positive, professional demeanor
  • Must be extremely reliable and able to follow through on commitments.
    • Read, understand and follow oral and written instructions and procedures
    • Must be flexible and willing to work in a fast-paced office environment
      • Distinguish importance of tasks and complete work in proper sequence

Time Commitment:

  • Four hours per week during regular business hours (8:30 am-5:30 pm)
  • We ask for a 3 month commitment
